SICK SOLDIERS
ANOTHER MENINGITIS VICTIM. (Per United Press Association.) IjANNEVIRKB, August 6. Private Robinson, of Gisborne, who was taken from the express train on Tuesday last suffering from cerebrospinal meningitis, died at the Dannevirke Hospital last night. DAILY CAMP BULLETIN. WELLINGTON, August 6. The following information has been received concerning sickness in the various military hospitals during the 24 hours preceding noon to-day:— Palmerston North. No serious cases. Total cases 58, comprising measles 3(y medical 22. Waikanae. Admissions 3, discharges 6. Totals are: Convalescent 29, measles 5. including 1 bronchial-pneumonia complication, which is progressing slowly: influenza 5, tonsilitis 3, observation 1. Of the influenza cases three are severe. Kaiawarra. —Nil. Featherstone. Measles 14, scarlet fever contacts 6, German measles 1, eczema 1, suspected infection carrier 1, minor surgical 3, sciatica 2. varicose 2, lymphangitis 1. intercostal neuralgia 1, bronchial asthma 1, rheumatism and gastritis 1. scarlet lever 1. No serious cases. Wellington.—Of the serious cases I is weaker and 3 are satisfactory. There are no new serious cases. There have been no admissions or discharges. Trentham. —72 influenza cases, all doing very well except one, who lias a severe attack, but is in no danger. Of the serious cases 16 are improving, one shows no improvement, 1 is dangerously’ ill, 1 is not quite so well, and 2 unchanged'. Of the cases under observation 3 are doing well and one is suspicious. The total number of cases of all kinds of sickness in the military hospitals on Friday was 339, as-against 389 on Friday of last week.
