THE FIFTH IX EGYPT. (Special lo ihe Times). WELLINGTON, July 28. , The evidence that the FiftJi Reinforcements, which left Wellington on June 12, have reached Egypt, is afforded by a cable message received by Mr Samuel Hill, of Wellington, from his son. Corporal W. J. R. Hill, late of Auckland, stating that he and his brother (Corporal Leslie Hill, of the -Main Body) were about to leave Egypt for the front. Corporal Leslie Hill lias just recovered from wounds received in Gallipoli. The Minister for Defence (Hon. J. Allen) stated in reply to a question last evening that he had not yet received any official advice of the arrival of the “Fifth” at their destination. THE HEALTH REPORT. ANOTHER DEATH. WELLINGTON, July 2*. The following information lias been received up to noon, on Wednesday as regards sickness in the various camp hospitals for the past 24 hours : Waikanae. —Admissions . 4 measles, 1 influenza. Totals : 45 convalescent, 26 measles, 1 influenza, 3 minor surgical cases, 1 observation case. Kaiwarra. —Admissions : ir>. discharge es 29. Total remaining cases 76; no serious cases. Tauherenikau and Grt-ytown.—No serious cases under treatment. Measles 14. sore throats G, rheumatism 2, lymphangitis 1, varicele 3, varicose I, minor surgical cases 5, colic 3, lumbago 1. Trentham. —20 serious cases and 3 under observation. Of the serious cases 3 5 are. improving, 3 are unchanged and 2 are not so well. Wellington Hospital.—New serious cases; Scarlet fever 1, septic throat 3; admissions 5; death I—Private Ralpii Cowley, from pleurisy and pneumonia following measles; next of kin, A. Cowley, Nukualofa, Tonga, father. The late Private Cowley's sisters reside in Wellington. Palmerston North.—Previous cases under treatment on the 27th were 72, comprising : Appendicitis 1, measles 53, medical cases 18. Discharges, medical cases. 3. The total number of cases of all kinds in the hospitals on Wednesday was 484, as against 514 on Tuesday.
