THE UNBEATENABLE TRIUMPH ON TOP AGAIN. The scries ot speed tests conducted on New Brighton Beach under the auspices of the Pioneer Club on Saturday served to once more demonstrate the wonderful consistency, efficiency, and reliability of Triumph Motor Cycles. On this occasion, in place of handicapping, machines were graded according to cylinder capacity, and started from scratch together. Each event was run over a five miles’ course and there was a good representative field in most of the events. The "Triumph" motor cycle is a 4-h.p. single cylinder machine of only 550 c.c. it was entered in the classes for private owners, maximum capacity 750 c.c.; trade owners, maximum capacity 750 c.c.: and trade owners, maximum capacity 1000 c.c. For the 750 c.c. private owners' event. W. Hollobon (Triumph) finished first, with D. Moffat (Triumph! second. In the 750 c.c. trade owners’ event G. U. Brown (Triumph) finished first. In the 1000 c.c. event a big 7-10 h.p. twin met the 4 h.p. Triumph driven by G. B. Brown on level terms, The big machine put up a record, covering the five miles in 4min 34secs, but the gallant little Triumph, running well over 60 miles an hour, finished only 70 yards behind, a truly wonderful performance considering the tremendous odds in en-gine-power. We can give immediate delivery of the latest three-speed 4 h.p. Triumphs, and of the two . speed h.p. Triumphs.—WlLSON and FRASER, Pee street, Invercargill.
