Rockefeller has Issued a statement in Colorado in which he says that it is infamous to describe the riots there as "Rockeielier’s war.” • Afore demonstrators gathered outside Mr Rockefeller's New York residence bearing placards with the legends thereon: ‘‘Thou 'Shalt not kill, either in Mexico or in Colorado,’’ "If you' want to fight join the cause of Labour against Capitalism,” “Help us and the Colorado mine workers, who are being ruthlessly slaughtered." , . Several arrests were made. « MURDERED WOMEN AND CHILDREN EVIDENCE AT THE INQUEST. BRUTAL METHODS OF TROOPS. NEW YORK, May 2. Received May 3. 5.5 p.m. • Witnesses at the inquest on the women and children who were burnt to death in the Ludlow tent colons'.•disaster swore unanimously the ' State militia deliberately fired into tents where it was known that women and children had refugeed. Some stenographers swore that they heard the militia commander direct the tents to be set on fire. WORKERS’ MAKE DEMONSTRATION. CHARGED BY POLICE. UPTON SINCLAIR RELEASED. The police charged them several times and many were injured. • The picketing .of Air Rockefeller's reslden'-e continues. Air Upton Sinclair has been released from gaoi as his fine was paid. Air Rockefeller is keeping to his secluded country residence. THE VERDICT. SLAUGHTER OF-THE INNOCENTS. DUE TO.MILITIA OR AIINE GUARDS. NEW YORK. May 2. Received May 4, 12.30 a.m. The jury at the inquest on the Ludlow tent disaster returned a verdict that the mine guards or militiamen started the fire which caused the women’s and children’s deaths. An open verdict was returned in the cases where seven men were killed in a battle with the mine guards.
