OBITUARY
THE DUKE OF ARGTLE. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. LONDON, May 3. Received May 4, 12.30 a.m. The Duke of Argyle is dead. John Douglas Sutherland Campbell, the ninth Duke of Argyle, who, among his many titles, held that of the Marquis of Lome, was bom ‘on August G. 1845. He, was Governor-General of Canada, 1878-83, and M.P. (U) for South Manchester from 1895-1900. He held also a number of high posts in Scotland. His heir is his nephew, Nlall Diannld, son of the late Lord. Archibald Campbell. He Is 41 years of age.
