BOY SCOUTS
SPLIT IN THE CAMP. (Per United Press Association). AUCKLAND, April T. * Trouble arose at a meeting of scoutmasters held on Saturday evening, as a, result of which it appears that the district commander, 100 boy scouts, and a. number of scoutmasters have„ seceded, from the movement in Auckland. At the meeting it appears that _th« discussion turned on the recent appointment of a district commander, and it was suggested that several scoutmasterswere endeavouring to harrass that commander in every manner possible. Towards the close of the meeting there was a good deal of heated argument, and. finally the chairman (Mr G. Thorpe) stated that his position as commander off the district was purely an honorary one, and he would therefore no longer tolerate the continued interferences. Ha thereupon withdrew, stating that he would send in his resignation. FTv® scoutmasters also left the meeting, and have to-day forwarded their resignations. together with those of the officer* and boys of their troops, to the dominion, chief fecout. . The scoutmasters who have resigned intend holding a meeting shortly. with; the idea of forming an executive that will act as the nucleus of a fresh scoutorganisation at Auckland,
