oUD MAN’S SUICIDE. (Par United Press Association.) DUNEDIN, April 7. George Hairop, an old resident of Macetown, was found dead in his hut at Eight Mile yesterday. There was a bullet wound In bis forehead and a revolver beside the body. A note left by deceased stated that he was in bad health and tired of life. He was a single man, 82 years of age, and had lived at Eight Mile for over 40 years. ACCIDENT AT BLUFF. A man named William Knowles, who was injured when attempting to release a beam which had been lowered Into the hold of the s.s. Maunganul at. Bluff on Monday, was admitted to the hospital suffering from a crushed foot. The wound inflicted was a painful one, and It necessitated nine stitches being placed in the patient's foot.
