Homeward hound from Wellington, the Shaw. • Savlll and Albion Co.’s K.M.S. lonic sailed from Monte Video on the evening of Friday last; The vessel sailed from Wellington on the 26th February. and is due at London on the 10th April. Advice has been received of the departure from London on Thursday last, the 19th March, of the White Star liner ZeaJandic for Dunedin and Lyttelton. She is due at Dunedin about the 2nd May. En route from Wellington, the New Zealand Shipping Company’s liner Rotorua arrived at Teneriffe last Saturday, and sailed for Plymouth and London on the same day. The New Zealand Shipping Company’s chartered liner Jeseric. en route from St. John, arrived at Sydney last Monday. The vessel sailed yesterday for Auckland, and should arrive at Wellington about April 4th. On Saturday last, the New Zealand Shipping Company’s liner Kimutakn left Liverpool cargo-laden for Auckland. Wellington, Lyttelton, and Dunedin. She Is expected at Wellington about May llth. Bound from Wellington to London the New Zealand Shipping Company’s liner Otaki arrived at Monte Video last Saturday, and resumed her voyage on Sunday. She left Wellington on February 31st The A. and A. Lino chartered steamer Whakaraa sailed from New York on the ISth instant for Australian and New Zealand ports. The vessel is due at Wellington about June 10th. After completing discharge of her cargo from Liverpool at Dunedin at the end of the month, the Buteshire will commence Homeward loading at Dunedin. She will afterwards visit Bluff, Gisborne, Waitara. Wanganui. Picton, Tlmaru, Lyttelton, and Wellington. The Buteshire is to sail from AVellington about May 2nd for Avonmouth via Las Palmas. The Tyser liner Miiritai sailed from London last Friday week (March I'D for Melbourne. Sydney, Auckland, Napier, and Wellington. About May J3th the vessel should reach Wellington. The May loading at Liverpool for New Zealand ports on behalf of the Federal and Shire Line, will be taken by the Sussex, which is fixed to sail on the 9th May. She will be followed by the Nairnshire. at present at Wellington, about the middle of June. Thh local agents for the F. and S. Line have been advised that the steamer Northern has been chartered to load at Liverpool for (he four principal Now Zealand ports in place o fthe Durham, which was to sail on the nth April. It will be remembered that the Northern brought hj cargo from New York to Wellington a few months ago. and was at Wellington at the time of the strike. She Is scheduled to leave Liverpool on the 18th April. According to a wireless message received by the Union Coryany from the Moana, via Chatham islands, the vessel will arrive in Wellington from San Francisco to-day—time-table date. Before proceeding to Sydney she will discharge some 74P tons of cargo at Wellington, 315 tons of which were loaded at San Francisco. The cargo includes a Quantity of Island fruit. Bluff—E light: 30.10; 55; cloudy and hazy; smooth. SUMMARY AND FORECAST. East to south-easterly gales have been reported in the North and moderate to strong easterly winds elsewhere. Rain has fallen in the East Coast and northernmost districts and cloudy weather has predominated. The barometer has been unsteady, but high in the South and low in the North. Conditions are apparently moch disturbed to the westward of the dominion. Indications are still rather ominous and the barometer is likely to fall everywhere. Cloudy, misty and unsettled weather with rain probable generally ; expect strong easterly winds with a northerly tendency soon. SAX FRANCISCO SERVICE. Movements of vessels in the Sydney-Welington-San Francisco service are as follow : Tahiti left Sydney on Saturday; due at Wellington to-day; sails on Friday for the Californian port, via Rarotonga and Papeete; due at San Francisco on the 16th April. Moana. due at Wellington yesterday from San Francisco, via Papeete and Rarotonga; sails for Sydney direct on Friday.
Aorangi. leaves San Francisco on the Ist April for Wclington and Sydney via ports: due here on the 23rd April, and sails next day for the New South Wales port. Willochra replaces the Aorangi in May.
