Shirley.—Refused. —Correspondence.— Seven lessees in the Alton district (Alton No. :i Loan Block) wrote asking tit at rent be remitted on their holdings until such time as roads are formed giving proper access. Ranger Mackley submitted a report on the roads leading to these lands. — Refused, no power. Section IT. block 17. Longwood S.D.. 4 acres 3 roods 33 poles. The Cierk of Wallace. County Council asked that this section he vested in the Council as a gravel reserve. Refused, as Council has right to remove gravel free of charge. ■I. W. .lohnston. the lessee of section 13. Maori ilill settlement, applied for the issue of a new lease in lieu of the original which was destroyed by firci—Approved at a cost of 10s. Thomas Martin applied for grazing right over sections 1.7 and 9. block 11, Town of Lumsden, tfc-acre. and offered 5s per annum. —Approved, Robert Wallace, who holds a temporary right over section 1 of 14. block 14, Chatton, 1 acres 2 roods, applied for a license- over the section under Pan S of "The Land Act. HtOS." — Refused. H. F. Moss applied for renewal of rights over sawmill area No. (!■' acres in .Jacob's River Hundred*, and offered £1 per annum. —Approved. [. W. Raymond and Co. asked for an extension of two years in which to. cut out the timber on sawmill area No. Htl.t. Alton S.D.. 100 acres. —Aproved at a rental of £4 per annum. Mr It. T. L. Moffatt applied to he allowed to select that portion of section L Mock 10. Camphelltown Hundred which h-s to the east of tlie Wailuna stream, and pointed out, inter alia, that the stream is the natural boundary between y.s land and section S. —Refused.
