The s.s. lonic from London arrived at Wellington on Wednesday evening, ilst January. The Invercargill contingent of passengers will tranship to the Wlllochra, which sailed from Wellington yesterday afternoon, and w I reach Bluff by this steamer on Mona ~ morning, 26th January. A wireless message from the Masquaries states that Mr J. Hatch’s schooner Rachel Cohen, which had a last passage from Hobart to the Islands, took on board 433 casks of oil and sailed on the afternoon of the 21st Inst, for the mainland. With southwesterly weather she should make a fast trip to the New River. On January 5 the Shaw, Savili and Albion Company’s liner Matalua sailed from Liverpool for New Zealand ports with a full cargo of general merchandise.
