A POST-SESSIONAL ADDRESS

BY THE HON. D. BCDDO. LIBERAL POLICY OUTLINED. Per United Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH. January 9. The Hon. D. Buddo deliverer! a postsessional address at Kaiapoi, and criticised the legislation of the Government, and said that its activities could be summed up by saying that some of the new legislation that has been passed by the Government was not good, and what was good was not new. Referring to the strike, lie was of opinion that it could have been settled after the first two or three weeks, when Parliament could very well have lent a hand in settling it, either by setting up a select committee or by referring the matters in dispute to Sir Joshua Williams. Outlining the probable policy of the Liberals, if returned to power, he said that they would do something to reduce the cost of living: they would provide for the free carriage of small children on railways; increase the pay of teachers. and empower harbour boards and other local authorities permanently to employ wharf labourers. He was accorded a vote of thanks.
