QUARANTINE RESTRICTIONS. (By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright.) MELBOURNE, October 1. In the House Mr Cook stated that until the States have taken steps on their own account to prevent smallpox from spreading to other States the quarantine restriction on Sydney will not be raised. SYDNEY CASES. SYDNEY, October 1. Received October 2, 12.15 a.m. Five cases suspected to be smallpox have been reported from Coofamundra.
