New Zealand, and was before the Police Ttourt yesterday on that charge, and an* ytheo’ of stealing a naval uniform belonging to the British Government. The gage was remanded to next Friday. ATTEMPTED SUICIDE. OAMARU, May IS. An elderly woman named Mrs .Emily Dickaert made an attempt to commit mtiCKta on Saturday by jumping into deep water in the lagoon! .She was rescued "by a man named Donne, and later bad to be sent to the hospital. A BRICKLAYER SUICIDES. WELLINGTON. May 17. Alexander Thompson, who is also believed, to have gone under the name of Tbramm, shot himself in Boulcott street this morning. He died a quarter of an hour,after admission to the hospital. He was : a bricklayer by, trade, about 85 ,*ears of- age, and came from Sait Frauf cisco five'months ago. He had been under medical treatment lately.
