ALLEGED FLOGGING OF BOYS.

To tho Editor. Sir. —I wish to enter my emphatic protest against tho Government for withholding the evidence of the inquiry into the alleged flogging of the boys on the Amokura. I think it is high time something war. done to prevent this system of inquiries from being hold in camera, especially on public affairs. Now we know that the Amokura belongs to the people and is kept up by the same, therefore I consider it is my duty as a father to know how those boys were treated.—l am, etc., E. A. BROWN. [Part of our correspondent's letter has been cut out. He deals with certain of the allegations a.s if they had been proved. As the allegations are the subject of inquirv comment is not permissible.—Ed. S.T.]
