FLOODS SUBSIDING. ENORMOUS LOSS OF PROPERTY. (By Telegraph.—Press Association. —Copyright). NEW YORK, March 28. Reports from Dayton state that the floods are subsiding. A thousand militiamen control relief. Numbers of looters have been arrested. The fires have been extinguished. The property l(jss In Dayton is estimated at two million pounds. Fifteen thousand persons are homeless in Zanesville, f>ut relief is forthcoming. Other areas affected have been relieved. FLOODS RECEDING. NOT MORE THAN 600 DEAD. COLUMBUS (Ohio), March 29. Received 30th, 5.5 p.m. The floods have receded. The official number of dead will not exceed 600 throughout the entire flood area. •The relief situation is satisfactory. Motor boats, skimming along the submerged streets, effected hundreds of rescues. At Troy (New York State) the floods destroyed thirty buildings, but no lives were lost. • The military are patrolling the streets. Fires considerably damaged the business section.
