TRICKS OF THE TRADE. MR MACKENZIE WATCHFUL. (By Telegraph—Press Assn—Copyright) LONDON, March 28. The Hon. Thos. Mackenzie has learnt that of seventy public institutions advertising for meat, twenty-eight accept English only. Most of the others specify New Zealand. Some are inclining towards Australian and Argentine, and it is alleged that some of the lower grades are substituted for New Zealand. Mr Mackenzie is submitting proposals to tlie New Zealand Government to prevent this.
