DRAUGHTS TOURNAMENT
(Per United Press Association.) GORE, March 27. The handicap draughts tourney concluded last night, the visiting draughts players being entertained-at a social. The prizes were presented by Mr P. C. Gray. Vice-President. . Several speakers commented on the excellence of the handicapping, some stating that they had never known or heard of so good. Sotting, of Dunedin, wins first prize, £ls; Young (Rakaia), second, £7; Mamell and Muir tie for third, and divide £7. The following table shows the position of competitors, each playing 18 games. Wilson 6 % 9% The afternoon session In the Australian Draughts Championship resulted In Gardiner securing two wins from Morris. The remaining two games will be played at the evening session. The winner will commence the final of the losers class against Calderwood to-morrow.
