ANOTHER WATERSIDER KILLHO.'

(Per United Press Association.) AUCKLAND, February I®. A fatal accident occurred on board th* steamer Matau at the Railway Wharf tips afternoon, when a waterside worker named Ernest Albert .Tones received such injuries that he expired almost imr mediately. Deceased was Working cargo in the hold when a case became detached from the sling, and fell’ 35ft striking the unfortunate man a terrific blow ori the left temple. Deceased was aged 35, and leaves a wife and three children. This makes a total of 30 accidents which, have occurred to watersiders in and op, Auckland wharf since December 30th, two of which have proved fatal. Tha walersiders decided at last general meeting that in future all work should ceasa on the wharf for 24 hours in the case of a member of the Union being killed, op dying from injuries received while working on the wharves. The secretary of the Union informed a reporter that as far as he could at present state the decision arrived at by his Union would ba carried into effect in the present case.

ACCIDENTALLY SHOT,

THAMES, February I®. A sad fatality occuired at Parapa)p near Thames last night, by which Alexander Dunlop, son of a well-known resident, received wounds by accidental shooting which resulted in his death, Dunlop, who was aged 24, was in his he.iroom cleaning a gun. It is presumed that after cleaning it he loaded it, and was in the act of putting it away when it caught on a box and was discharged, Dunlop received a wound in the abdomen. Medical assistance was called in, but the man died before the doctor arrived. At the inquest a verdict of accidental death was returned.

M.* - Arnoldson and the youngest daughter* were thrown under tne car, and sustained rather serious injuries to the head. They were conveyed to Lake Taupo hospital* and were medically attended. RAILWAY MAN KILLED. SYDNEY, February 10. Received February 10, 9.25 p.m. John Rankin, employed at the North' Shore railway was struck by an engine and succumbed to his injuries.
