(Per United Press Association), WELLINGTON, January 1L - The Salvation Army authorities stat® that the appeal for. funds for the General Booth memorial Is meeting with alt ready response. Nine persons have con- 1 1 ributed £IOO each; twelve have given £SO; thirty-three £25; nine £2O; and thirty-five £lO each. "The total to date la £6OOO, and it is - believedthe whole £IO,OOO will be raised.- Sketch plans have been approved forbuilding, which Is estimated will- cost £7OOO, and. which will be built in brick," and* whlch-Wlll accommodate over fifty students. v> CANTERBURY’S QUOTA, CHRISTCHURCH, January'lli. ■, Adjutant H. E. McDougall has opened the list In this city with a donation df £IOO. Adjutant Sharp, who will remain here.for some days, has already visited Oatnaru, Timaru, and Culverden, in which three places approximately £IOOO was donated.
