(Major - General Edward Bethune, Director - General of the Territorial Forces, and famous as the commander of Bethune's Horse in the Boer War, caused a stir at Bristol yesterday amongst a meeting consisting principally of employers. General Bethune condmened their readiness to cry "stinking fish.” He wanted to rouse public opinion “aghinst the lazy devils who played golf all day and ignored their duly to their country.” BRIGANDS IN PERSIA, OUTLAWRY AND GUN-RUNNING.
