MAT.TA AS A BASE. (By Telegraph.—Press Association. —Copyright.) MALTA, June 2. Officials from the Admiralty are impressed with the swiftness and economy of the repairs executed In the dockyard here, and they intend fully to use Malta as a naval base, and assign to it sufficient repairing and refitting work to keep the dockyard always capable of attending to the needs of the fleet in peace and war. Mr Churchill promised more submarine defence for the port. Lord Kitchener has returned to Egypt. The Enchantress has sailed for Bizerta.
