FRENCH APPREHENSIONS. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.—Copyright.) PARIS, June 2. Several French journals regard the Italian operations in the Aegian as tantamount to the occupation of the Eastern Mediterranean by the Triple Alliance, and declare that the situation cannot bo tolerated by Britain and France, who must retain supremacy in the Mediterranean. These journals also state that the Malta conference was an indication that Britain was anxious to obtain a clear idea of the situation.
