FRENCH TROOPS’ ACTIVITY. (Dry Telegraph. —Press Association.—Copyright.) PARIS, June 3. Received June 3, 9.20 p.m. General Lyantey reports that Colonel Gourand’s column made a sortie against the Moors ten kilometres north-east of Fez and shelled a large encampment, causing a flight to the mountains. Many of the enemy were left dead on the field. The French lost nine killed and 28 wounded, including Redman, an English non-commissioned officer, who was attached to the Sultan’s army. General Brutard, speaking at the funeral. paid a high tribute to Redman’s courage.
