STARVING STRIKE CHILDREN
FUND STILL GROWS. Yesterday was agreeably prolific in subscriptions towards the fund for assisting the women and children who have been reduced to starvation by the coal strike. The necessity is still dire and there Is employment awaiting every shilling that can be raised. At the best the destitute will have no comfort for many weeks to come, but the money that has been raised in the oversea dominions will mean the relief of many thousands from actual starvation. It may be pointed out that this is a fund to which the smallest sum may be contributed, We shall be glad to take shillings. Less than two shillings will keep a little child going for nearly a week. This is; a case in which every little helps and the smallest sum is welcome. £ s. d. Amount already acnowledged . . . . IS9 2 6% q .
