SPECIAL ORDER MAKING TRAMWAY BY-LAWS. In pursuance of "The Tramways Act, 130S" and "The Municipal Corporations Act, 1905." AT a Special Meeting of the Council of the Borough of Invercargill held on Thursday tlie 2!)lh day of February 1932 it was resolved that a By-law be made for regulating and controlling the use and tragic, of tramways and tramcars and premises appurtenant thereto and conserving the health safety and convenience of the public and persons using the same ami for preventing and abating nuisances on tramways and tramcars and premises appurtenant thereto a copy of which proposed By-law is deposited at. the office of the Borough Council in the Municipal Buildings, Tay Street, Invercargill and Is there open to the inspection of the public during office hours, from the date of the first publication of litis notice until and inclusive of the 4(h day of April 1912. The objects and purport of the proposed By-law are as follows : THAT fares shall be paid on demand and before passenger leaves i'ie car. THAT tickets sit all be produced in good condition when required or another fare must be paid. THAT payment of fares shall riot be evaded'. Restricting the use and sale of tickets and "not transferable” tickets ami passes. ' THE prevention of offences in respect of tickets and refusal to pay fare, and providing for taking name and removal of offender. THAT passengers shall enter and leave the car on the, proper side and not whilst in motion and shall travel in the proper part of the car .and not remain on steps or platform. The prevention of overcrowding and . of nuisance. The prevention of offensive language or offensive behaviour. ’ The prevention of injury to the person or clothing of passengers or other persons.
