Faber’s Uncle Pat, 4 yrs, •7.6,’ 2; Mr H. P. Mitcall’s Warfare, 4 yrs, 6.1* 3. CRICKET. THE AUSTRALIAN ELEVEN IN WESTRALIA. ’ PERTH. March 27. The Australian eleven played a western team. The West Australians in their first Innings made Kclieway howling four for none. Australia made 114, Bardsley 30, and Mayne 25. West Australia in the second Innings lost seven w-ickets for 167. The Australians have sailed for England. v Bluff easily defeated Y.M.C.A. (a) team at Bluff, by 132‘runs to 19. Bluff, Robb and McQuarrie were the two principal scorers, making 120 runs betw-een them, the remaining batsmen adding only 12 runs. Y.M.C.A. A.’s innings was a very poor display, Martin (6) being their highest scorer. SOULLKfO. • THE BARRY V. AKNST MATCH. LONDON, March 26. Owing to the poor response to the “Sportsman’s” and “Sporting Life’s” appeals for subscriptions for Barry’s expenses a coipmittee has been formed to endeavour to raise money by means of cards and boxes. BILLIARDS. GRAY AND STEVENSON MATCHED. LONDON, March 26. In a billiard match of 9.000 level at Glasgow with bonzolinc balls, Gray has scored 1,503 to Stevenson’s Sl3. GRAY STILL LEADING STEVENSON. LONDON, March 27. Received March 28, 12.5 a.m. Gray, with 3002 points to his credit, is leading Stevenson, in a match game, the latter having scored 1,815. ATHLETICS. MAORILAND S OLYMPIC REPRESENTATIVE. (Per United Press Association). AUCKLAND, March 27. At a meeting of the Olympic Council it was decided that G. N. Hill should leave Auckland on Monday next, and join the Osterley at Sydney. The chairman said the funds collected for Hill’s expenses amounted to £l4O, and another £6O was required. It was decided to issue subscription lists' towards the same. The chairman spoke strongly of the action of- certain sports bodies in declining to help in what is regarded as a national affair.
