AT a special meeting of the Council of the Borough of Invercargill, held on THURSDAY, the 24th day of August, 1911, it was resolved as follows. BY-LAW No. 2. 1911. "In pursuance of the powers and authorities vested In it by the Municipal Corporations Act, 1908, and the Public Reserves and Domains Act, 1908, the Invercargill Borough Council doth hereby by special order make and ordain this by-law.” 1. For the purposes of this by-law, "Reserve” means any public reserve of any kind whatsoever, and for whatever purpose the same is used, and any Domain, park, gardens, sports ground, recreation ground, or cemetery belonging to or under the control or management of the Corporation of the Borough of Invercargill, whether the same be within or beyond the boundaries of the Borough ; and “Liquor” means spirits, wine, beer, ale, and any spirituous or intoxicating liquors. 2., No person shall, without the license or authority of the Council take or assist in taking or cause or procure to be taken Into any reserve any liquor. 3. No person shall use or consume in any reserve any liquor taken there without the license or authority of the Borough Council. 4. No person shall accept or receive from any other person in any., reserve, any liquor taken there without the license or authority of the Borough Council. 5. No person shall resort .to or remain in any reserve for the purpose of using or consuming liquor there. AND PUBLIC NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council Chambers, Tay Street, Invercargill, has been fixed as the place, and Thursday, the 21st day of September, 1911 (at 7.30 o’clock in the evening) as the date for the meeting of the Council, at which the resolution making the aforesaid By-law, either with or without amendment, shall be presented for confirmation as a special order, and for fixing the day upon which the said By-law shall come into force.
