IMPORTED STUD CATTLE
(Per United Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Sept. 14. What is said to be the largest consignment of stud cattle that has come to hand at New Zealand from America was landed by the Aorangi at Wellington this morning from San Francisco. It comprises seventeen head of Holstein Frieslans, which were selected from herds in Brocklow (Massachussets) and Wisconsin by Mr W. J. Lovelock, of Palmerston North, for the following New Zealand farmers : Messrs C. Chopping, of Rongotea ; J. Hart. Dannevirke ; W. J; Rennant, Woodville ; J. Llggins, Tokomaru, and A. J. Harris, Featherstbn. Half-a-dozen others are to follow to complete the order, and, like the first lot, they will, be Imported through the agency of Dalgety and Co.’s Palmerston North branch. The cattle were transhipped to the Duchess this morning and conveyed to the quarantine station on Soames Island. The animals are said to have been bred from the highest strain in the station from which they were selected. Their value Is assessed at a high figure/
