LUMSDEN NOTES

(From Our Own Correspondent). The annual meeting of the parishioners “All Saints,” Lumsden, took place In Mr Johnson’s Hall on Wednesday evening last, the Vicar, Rev. W. Uphill presiding. There was a fair number present, the ladles being well represented. The secretary and treasurer. Mr Q. F. Johnson, presented the annual statement of accounts which showed that they started with a debt of £8 In the Stipend Fund, but at present all dues to that fund were paid and It was In credit £l3 odd. With regard to the fund for the erection of a Vicarage, the Church Improvement Fund had handed over £77 2s 5d to start It with, subscriptions paid and promised amounting to £l7B have brought the fund up to £255, so that the sum of £3OO Lumaden’s portion of the .cost is within sight. The building Is In course of erection and should be completed by the end of July. Miss Barrett, Superintendent pf the Sunday School, presented the statement of accounts In connection with the school showing a credit balance of £1 ss. The election of officers' for the year resulted in Mr G. F. Johnson being elected People's Warden, Mr' W. H. Barrett, Vicar’s Warden; and committee of nine, most of whom were re-elected. Votes of thanks were tendered to Mr G. F. Johnson through whose energy matters as disclosed were in such a satisfactory position, also to Miss Barrett through whose interest in Church matters the Suhday School was now in a most excellent position, to the organist, the collectors, and all those who by tlieir efforts had promoted the welfare of the Church. To the retiring committee a special vote of thanks was accorded. The Vicar then closed the meeting with prayer. / All present then adjourned to the tables the ladles had furnished with dainties In abundance, and after partaking of their liberality gave them a very hearty vote of thanks and dispersed.
