FOR STEALING OPIUM
THREE TEARS’ IMPRISONMENT. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.—Copyright.) SYDNEY, May 26. Received 27, 12.10 a.m. Oswald Waterhouse has been sentenced to three years’ hard labour for stealing opium from a Chinaman. The High Court recently held that opium, though an illegal possession, was capable of being the object of larceny.
