STATEMENT BY 818 FIELDING-. (By Telegraph —Press Association —Copyright), OTTAWA, March 16. The Hon. W. S. Fielding, Minister of Finance, stated in the House of Commons, in reply to questions, that no freetrade proposals had been made to or by the United States during the reciprocity negotiations. The Canadian representatives at the outset announced that they were not prepared to include manufactures. Mr Fielding asserts that Canada is not favourable to the annexation of the Bahamas.
