Lees Smith, Liberal member for Northampton, has given notice of motion that Mr McKenna, First Lord of the Admiralty, was guilty of a breach of confidence of the House of Commons in having four contingent Dreadnoughts laid down. A GERMAN OPINION. BERLIN, March 15. Mr McKenna’s estimates have impressed the newspapers. Some declare that there are no “Little Englanders” left. The Tagllscße Rundschau says that Sir E. Grey has preached fraternity, disarmament, and arbitration so as to let Britain take the lead. SIR JOSEPH WARD’S PROPOSALS. LONDON, March 15. Mr McKenna, First Lord of the Admiralty, replying to Mr Norton Griffiths, Unionist, said that it was premature to discuss Sir Joseph Ward’s proposals, which would be reserved for the Imperial Conference. ADMIRAL HENDERSON’S REPORT. PERTH, March 15. Senator Pearce, -ilniste.- of Defence, stated that the Qovernm nt was prepared to carry Admiral Henderson’s report into effect If the people would give It power. Phases of the report would not be touched for years, but the immediate programme would be an extensive one.
