The ordinary meeting was attended by the Mayor (Mr W. A. Ott) and a full meeting of Councillors. Heave of absence was granted c'rs. D. A. •Mitchell and P. J. Hillicray.

Correspondence. •Mrs Jane Dyer, Robertson street, Hast Invercargill, offered the Council tt strip of her section (till wide) for street widening for £3l>. —dtoferred to the Works Committee for report. J. -\. Hose asked for an extension of the time allowed him to shift his hut off George street, North Invercargill.— Granted six Weeks longer.

\V. TulTcry and D. Curran complained of the state of the drains in Burton Township.—Referred to the Works Committee for report.

Jas. Cleiue asked permission to do the rabbit-trapping in winter on the Dunsdale Reserve. Referred to the Water Committee with power to act. The secretary Bluft Harbour Board intimated that Mr J. E. Watson's seat on the Bluff Harbour Board ins member for Invercargill Borough) was affected by Hie new legislation, the member being a director of the Southland Frozen -Meal Co. He suggested delaying the mutter till -Mr Watson's return, which is expected shortly.—Held over meantime.

The North Invercargill School Committee wrote requesting compensation for a strip of land in block 1, Mitchelllown, taken by tiie Council for tramway purposes.
