THE NEW HEBRIDES.

Received Jan. 24. 9.20 p.m. Judge Roseby, English Condominium Judge in the New Hebrides, who is visiting Sydney, states that the Court la not yet in thorough working order. The Judges have been engaged in compilirig rules of procedure, which have just been completed and will be a contribution of importance in the domain of comparative low. Owing to his judicial position he is unable to say anything regarding recent statements by missionaries. • SYDNEY, Jan. 24. Judge Colomb, French member of the New Hebrides Condominium Court, denies that the increased sale of liquor is due to laxity or favouritism on his part. The sale of alcohol and weapons to the natives would cease only when the joint Court had the means of visiting all the islands with facility. He hoped the French and British Governments would come to an arrangement to supply the Court with a special vessel to make frequent circuits.
