After a speech by air Cutten Mrs Faulks performed the ceremony of 'christening the boat, which she did in the orthodox style by breaking a bottle of champagne held by a silken ribpon on the bow of the vessel umi bestowino' upon it the name of Kauai. At a word from .Mr Cutten the ropes were cut and the launch v, ilh Captain Burns on deck slid with graceful ease into the hike ’amid hearty cheers from the spectators. It was indeed a pretty sight, the new boat trimmed with bunting gliding on the mirrored waters of the lake, whore it was soon taken in low bv the launch "Elswick" and brought alongside the wharf, where all present were soon pacing the decks of the new launch. The boat will till a long-felt want, both settlers and tourists being in the future well provided for. It is driven by a Globe lla horsepower engine worked i>v .suction gas or benzine, and will be capable id' trips in all weather.
