After a speech by air Cutten Mrs Faulks performed the ceremony of 'christening the boat, which she did in the orthodox style by breaking a bottle of champagne held by a silken ribpon on the bow of the vessel umi bestowino' upon it the name of Kauai. At a word from .Mr Cutten the ropes were cut and the launch v, ilh Captain Burns on deck slid with graceful ease into the hike ’amid hearty cheers from the spectators.
