WYNDHAM NOTES
(from Our Own Correspondent.) The district schools' (Glenham, Wvndhani, Kdendale and Kamahi) exeursidn to Riverton on Wednesday was patronised by no le.ss than 1100 people. Leaving Wyndham at 7.55, the train arrived at Riverton at 11 a.m. Beautiful weather favoured the excur.sioni.sts, many of whom made the trip up the Pourakino in motor launches, which ran all day. The Wyndham Pipe Band accompanied the excursionists. A team of cricketers and one of bowlers also journeyed to Riverton and indulged in friendly game-; with the local clubs there. Returning the train left Riverton at 4.55 p.m. reaching Wyndham at 7.-10. The annual entertainment in aid of the Mokoreta-Redan Public Hall Fund takes place on Friday evening. 18th inst. The Wyndham Dramatic Club will a/ssist the concert programme. -Mr W. J. Currie. saddler, has accepted the tender of .Mr D. Robertson, Gore, for the erection of a handsome two-storeyed brick building. This new building will occupy tiio site of the old one which was recently demolished. Air D. McKechnie, who v.-as the instigator and for about three years lias been pipe-mrijor of the Wyndham Pipe Hand lias re-sifiied, and the position has been filled by Pipe.-Sergt. Richard Sutherland.
