SOUTH AFRICANS AT SYDNEY. SYDNEY, November 17. Received November IT, 8.45 p.m. The South African cricketers arrived and were officially welcomed by the Lord Mayor at the Town Hall. The Mayor said tliat the welcome was particularly heartfelt because it meant that another chain bound the Empire together. They had come to a country full of love and admiration for the sister children of the -Motherland. If they won a feeling of keen admiration would be added to the bond of kinship. The speeches in response eulogised Australia's hospitality and sportsmanlike qua lilies. Subsequently the visitors were welcomed by the Cricket Association. Mr Sherwell (captain) declared that the Australian cricket grounds were the best he had ever seen. The weather is line and hot and a fast wicket is promised for to-morrow's match. '"boxing.
