ANGLICAN MISSION.

The interest in the Mission continues to draw large congregations, and last evening another earnest address was delivered by Rev. T. C. lloran, his subject being taken from the Epistle of St. Paul to his friend Philemon. The preacher held the attention of the audience while lie pictured the aged "apostle with his arm chained to the Roman soldier and preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ in the palace of a wicked ruler. The prisoner was allowed to see his friends and others and in the course of their coming and going one visited him bearing the brand in the palms of both hands which proclaimed him a slave. Paul, in season and out of season brought this slave to the knowledge of his master and showed him that his course was to return to his earthly master. Onosimus the slave, was afraid, but when Paul learnt that his master was Philemon, an old convert of his. he gave Onesirnus a letter to him and the letter as i ( . reads in the Bible constitutes a verv touching appeal. Onesimus was afraid to return to his master but with Paul's letter he could face his master and he assured of acceptance. With this letter as a basis the preacher made a powerful appeal >o his hearers to accept the Lord Jesus Christ who had redeemed them from the slavery of sin. \\'e have no merit in ourselves, said the preacher, but are received hack into the Kingdom (if Cod only and solely on the merits and death of our .Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. The hymns sung were appropriate to the .service, arid an earnest discourse was delivered at Hie after meeting the subject being "How to bear the Cross.' To-morrow there will be the usual 7 a.m. Holy Communion, at U p.m. a women's meeting, at 7..'i0 hymn practice, and at S the usual mission service.
