(Per United Press Association.) DUNEDIN, Nov. 17. A five-roomed dwelling hi Cannongale street was burned down tit two o'clock tiiis morning, jwrs Code, whose husband is a murine engineer, and her child were the sole occupants, and they escaped in their night Hoi ho; through a window. A serious lire toolc place in the city shortly before noon to-day. Archer's drapery stores and the Union Laundry In Cuba street were gutted. The fire is supposed to have originated in. an annexe at the rear of Archer's. The damage is estimated at over £3OOO. The premises were owned by Mr V. Jensen, who-,e insurance..; are about £250 on each shop in the Norwich Union. The stock was insured for £2OOO in the Northern Union and Australian Alliance offices. The damage to stock is estimated at £2500. The ma.n part of Archer's premise.;. i\ brick building owned by Mrs Dawson', was uninjured. There were about 20 employes in the .shop, mostly
