SUPREME COURT SITTINGS
(Per United Press Association.) AUCKLAND. Aug. 25. At the Auckland Supremo Court today, before the Chief Justice, William Patrick Brophy, charged with theft of £lO in money from a dwelling at ilowick, was found guilty and remanded for sentence. Thomas Poulton was found guilty of having broken and entered a dwelling at Mount Albert and stolen jewellery, and William John Parker was found guilty on several charges of theft. Both were remanded for sentence. DUXFDI.W Aug. 25. At the Supreme Court to-day the action brought by Louisa Mary Ailcheson against James Marl in Samson, auctioneer, for recovery of noon damages for injuries received in a motor ear accident on April s was concluded. The jury returned a verdict for plaintiff on the mound of negligence and want of ordinary skill and care ai the time of tile accident, ami assessed damages at t750. Air Adams, counsel for defendant, gave notice thai he would move in ,e( aside the verdict and ask for judgment for defendant. His Honour .Mr Justice William.-; said thai further consideration would be reserved. 11 was just the same as if counsel asked for a nonsuit. Counsel had II days hi which to move.
