TOWN DRAINAGE SCHEME

A PLEASING ANNOUNCEMENT. At the Town Council meeting yesterday evening the Mayor stated that the ActingTown Engineer's report on the drainage scheme was so far advanced that it would be ready for the next Council meeting. It would be found a very comprehensive scheme and that it would be well within the means of Invercargill to go in for a drainage, system almost immediately. The Engineer had informed the .speaker that so far as the old borough of Invercargill was concerned he thought that area could go in for a drainage system at once without waiting for an increased water supply provided the railway supply were cut olf. The Engineer was quite satisfied about that. The report would be laid before councillors at next meeting.
