Moana arrived from Dunedin at 12.30 p.m., and sailed for Melbourne Via Hobart at 7 p.m. Prom daylight until late in the atteinoon a thick fog enveloped Bluff yesterday, and occasioned considerable delu.t and inconvenience to the shipping. up till late in the afternoon it was impossible to even see the water from the Signal Station, and the s.s. LMimaroa was not sighted until four o’clock, when about twenty miles distant. The Moana was also late In arriving. MOVEMENTS U.J3.S. CO.’S STEAMERS. Following is Mr Bates’ summary and forecast: Very humid and foggy weather has accompanied a low pressure area of decreasing intensity, which passed over the country on Saturday and Sunday. Heavy rain fell in parts, and northerly winds, strong to a gale, were experienced at times; but the winds have been generally moderate and variable. Present indications are for moderate to strong ■westerly wind, with cloudy and unsettled weather. There will probably be little movement of the barometer in the north, but a temporary rise In the south. Low pressure is due in the south on Friday.
