The Athletic Union Conference is in its concluding stages after having transacted very important business. Mr G. W. Woods (Invercargill) was formally presented with an illuminated address and a suitable memento on his retirement from the office of president, and for his efforts in the ctiuse of athletics in the Dominion. By a large majority it was decided to take over the control of cycling in the Dominion. , Tlie South Canterbury Centre was allotted the next championships and conference, and was also appointed tiie centre wherein or adjacent to which a quorum of executive shall reside. The election of office-bearers resulted: —Patron, Mr G. W. Woods; president, Mr J. Kennedy (Geraldine), vice-presi-dents: Messrs J. Clarke (New Plymouth), and L. Duncan (Wellington): committee —Messrs W. G. Callender (Ormondvillo), J. P. Kalaugher (Winchester), A. J. Fisher (Blenheim), J. A. The Invercargill Tennis Club played a series of games at Winton yesterday against Winton Club, and won the match by the narrow margin of 3 games, the totals being 108 and 105. A return match will be played on the Invercargill Courts on Saturday.—Own Correspondent.
