There are no fresh developments to note in the wheat market. A fair amount of wncat Is offering at Is Id at country stations, ami some sales have been made at this figure; but millers arc not very anxious to operate and only those who are In immediate want of supplies are purchasing. There is a fair amount of oatsheaf chaff offering at quotation, but the demand for shipment is not eo active in consequence of the late rains in Aubtralia. Potatoes are dull of sale, though prices have not yet changed. There is a largo supply of eggs on the market and the wholesale price has dropped to la 6d per dozen.

J. A. Mitchell and Co. report having held tbelr annual midwinter show sale of Clydesdale colts and filllch in their yards, Dee street, on Wednesday, Juno 17th, and had an entry of 52 horses, including animals from the various breeders In all parts of the district. The attendance was a large and representative one, and while there were buyers prsont for horses fit to go into hard work and mares, yoarlings and 2-yoar-olds were dull of sale and only saleable at low rates. Taken all through this sale must be considered highly satisfactory as by auction and privately wo placed a fair proportion of the entry at prices quite equal to those lately ruling.
