School Committee Elections.
BALFOUR.—-The annual meeting of householders whH held in the schoolroom on 27th April. Mr W. C'owie (the retiring chairman) gave a short account of the work done during the past year. The balance-sheet showed that the- committee started with a balance of £1 Us lid. and after carrying on the work of the school In a very satisfactory manner, had a balance of Ufa lid. During the tear, through the energy of Mis« Nlckleys. the late mistress, an organ had been added to the school furniture, and a stable had been built. The following committee was elected 11. I’.UenricUscn (chairman), David McMath (secretary and treasurer), Thomas Uoughan, Robert Stark, John McPherson, S. A. Anderson and W. Cuwie. MABEL.—Eleven householders turned up at the eniiu&l meeting, Mr G. Amos presiding. The 1 following gentlemen were elected:G. Clark. G. Amos, W. Wilson, A. Wilson, A. McGUlivray. W. Irving and P. Garvey. At a subsequent meeting Mr G. Amos was proposed as chairman, but declined es the position at Mabel was supposed to be a rolling one. Thereupon Mr G. Clark was elected chairman for the ensuing ‘ year.
