TESTING THE BRAKES. By Telegraph.—Press Association.—Copyright. MELBOURNE, April 30. It transpires that, though yesterday's tests proved the Westinghouso brake effective for stopping trains, it failed to act in the case of one or two carriages and the mall van. It is contended that if it failed on individual vehicles an occasion might arise when it would fail altogether.
