PERTH, April 30, The disaster to the pearling fleet ■ls more serious than anticipated. The storm was sudden, and very severe, and also did considerable damage ashore. The full extent of the disaster Is not yet known. Latest news shows that two schooners and fifteen luggers were either smashed up or sunk. Two whites named McLachlan and Gashing and about 60 coloured men were drowned. The damage amounts to £IO,OOO. Altogether 200 boats and crews, aggregating 2000, are affected. Many are still missing, and may be sheltered on the coast. Arrangements have been made to search for survivors.
