KILLED AT SEA. Per United Press Association. BLENHEIM, Dec. Hi. The largo steamer Aymeric, bound from Buenos Ayres to Sydney, put >uto Port Underwood on Saturday morning for tbc purpose of burying a Chinese member of the crew who had met his death by fulling down the hold on to a sharp piece of iron. The steamer immediately resumed her voyage. DIED IN BED. WAIPAWA, Dec. lib Thomas Hughes, an elderly man, was found dead in bed at the Commercial Hotel. He was apparently in the host of health last night. A FATAL PALL. AUCKLAND. Doc. 10. A boy. named Robert Seott, aged seven, son of Mr Robert Walter Scott, of Huiitiy, climbed a, fence enclosing the shaft of an old mine and foil sixty foot on to n shelling bank and then another thirty feet into the water. The body was recovered half an hour later, dead. FOUND DEAD. GISBORNE, Dec. Hi.
Charles Nlehl, of Evans, Nield and Co., timber merchants, was found dead early this morning on the Gisborne side of Tolago Hill- Ha left town on Saturday night to Inspect contracts, and was returning on Sunday evening. The accident is supposed to have happened at 7.30 p.m. His buggy had gone over the hillside at a sharp turn. The body was found on the roadside. Deceased was a very popular resident, a prominent Druid, secretary of the Fire Brigade, and for many years he took an active part in local affairs.

Several men in the vicinity noticed his sudden collapse | ami brought him ashore, but efforts to restore animation were unavailing. Death Is supposed to have been due to heart failure. Deceased was 01 years of ago, and was a son of 11. Seager, late superintendent of Mount View Mental Hospital, ■Wellington. He was appointed ©Ulcer in charge at Aucliland in WOO, and held a 'similar position in, Dunedin a tew months ago, but had to leave through illheal th.
' FATAL TRAP ACCIDENT. CHRISTCHURCH, Doc. 17A sad fatal accident occurred at Amnerley on Saturday afternoon.. Mr William Uerry, aged 311, a schoolmaster m Balcairn, took a parly of school hoys for nature study to a picnic resort known ns Xatural Bridge, ten miles from Ambevj ley. On the return journey the horse in | the trap, driven by Mr Berry, became restive, plunging back after crossing a bridge. It backed into the side of the bridge, and, breaking tho protection rail, fell into a fifty feet chasm below. MiBerry’s skull was fractured, and he died in a few minutes. His son, William, aged, four, ami another law, Georgv Deal, were Killed instantaneously. A BROKEN ARM. A young man named Grice, who lately arrived from Melbourne, slipped on the pavement in Gore street, Bluff, on Friday evening while playing- with a child and broke his arm. The limb was set by Dr Torrance and the patient is doing well.
ACCIDENTALLY KILLED. GISBORNE, Dec. 11. Chas. Nield, of a local timber firm, left in a trap on Saturday for Tologa, purposing to return to town this morning. At about six o’clock this morning Nield was discovered, dead on the road. The trap*was at tho bottom of a hill, and the horse was free and standing by. At an inquest this afternoon a verdict of accidental death was returned. A man named Beattie from the Moeraku, fell on the deck of the vessel at Hobart fend fractured his left elbow. He received medical attendance on the vogage across and came up to the Hospital yesterday for further treatment. An X-ray phplograiph of his arm was taken and tho fracture was bandaged accordingly.
