PALMERSTON N„ Dec. 14

On Saturday afternoon Constable Connor was stabbed in tihe abdomen by William Waugh, a well known farmer, of Stoney Creek. The sonstable was arresting Waugh for drunkenness.

Waugh was 72; years of age* The weapon Used was a pruning knife.

Though the wound is a serious oile, Connor behaved pluckiiy, add with the assistance of a bystander got Waugh into a cab 'before giving why. Medical assistance was called and Connor was conveyed to the hospital.' tie is progressing satisfactorily;
