Stock Sale
Messrs Stromich, 'Morris fir (I Co., Ltd, report having held (in coTuunction rrith I. W. Raymond find Co.) on Friday last, the 19th inst., a sale of stock and effects of Mr Joseph rrcstoA’a Tokoimi estate, IVaimahaka. The sale excited tinusual interest in the district, it being widely known _th;.t all the; stoclf were first class and the farm implements up-to-date and well cared for. It was certainly one of the best sales they have held for some time. Mr IToston, however. left nothing to chance, and contributed considerably to the result by bringing out and showim; his stock, etc, to the best advantage. The implements were well set out, the horses well groomed and attended to, and the sheep and ■ attic properly drafted and penned. The sale was attended by some 230t0 ."00 farmers and others from the Taler* and North CmUe-hurt districts. Stud sheep : tw 2 and 4-tooth Border Leicester owes at 31s od, 38 C and S-tooth Border Leicester ewes at 27s Gd. 22 failing-mouth Border Leicester ewes at 13s 2d, 30 Border Leicester owe hoggets at 25s <3d, 23 stud Border Leicester rams l at 25c9, 33 sound-mouthed Romney owes at 235, 11 Romney owes (aged) a t 20s, 1 Border Leicester ram at sgs, 1 do tit Igs, 1 Romney rant at "tigs. Cattle : 74 steers and speyod heifers at £3 10s, 109 18-months-ohl stcera and heifers at £3 10g, 43 Hereford breeding cows nt £4, 12 polled Angus do n t £3 2s Gd, S6 crosscows at i>2 12s Gd, 152 calves at £2, 9 dairy cows at £3, 4 bulls at £3 2s Gd, 1 draught horse at £33, 1’ do £3O, 1 do at C2S. 1 do at £32. 1 aged mare at £2B, 1- do at £ll'.
